Construction of Small Hydro Power Plants |
Power station construction procedure starts at the moment of the first contact with the investor. Our specialists help customers at the stage of the location of power station, suggesting draft solutions of the problems related to hydro engineering part, water flow, mechanical and electric part.
Afterwards we prepare the design of the entire power station, including all indispensable devices and support installations. When design, agreements and permissions are ready, qualified ZRE teams start building the power station. In the Company headquarters mechanical parts are prepared, including the turbine, while the building part is coming into existence. When the entire object is ready for operation, ZRE engineers carry out start-up procedure of the object. Afterwards the investor receives the running power station.
The scope of our offer includes:
- Delivery of complete hydraulic power-generating set, consisted of the turbine, transmission gear and generator, including the control system,
- Assembling hydraulic power-generating set, including the auxiliaries,
- Operational tests, test start, acceptance for operation,
- Technical consultations and professional service services.

| Water turbines – production |
|
Production of water turbines was undertaken by ZRE Gdańsk for sake of applying them in low-power hydroelectric power stations:
- built on existing reservoirs or water damming up objects
- erected on hydro technical objects made for this purpose, on water intakes for communal and industrial purposes or for agricultural irrigation,
- created in the site of reconstructed and modernized "old" hydraulic power plants.
These objects can be ranked into the group of low-head hydroelectric power stations, such as:
- tabular turbines
- Kaplan turbines
Turbines of this type, being characterized, in comparison to Francis turbines, by greater speed and efficiency, are adapted to operation under the low head and in considerable changes of water flow rate.

| Series of turbine types |
|
Series of tubular and Kaplan turbine types are manufactured in cooperation with Water Turbine and Pump Chair of Gdańsk Technical University.
Horizontal tubular turbines
- Curved tubular turbine ( type K)

- Double-curved tubular turbine (type S)

Vertical tubular turbines

Kaplan turbines
- Kaplan turbine in concrete pit

- Kaplan turbine in spiral pit

For small flow rates low and medium head Bank turbines are added to above listed series of turbine types

| Selection of turbines |
|
The following nomograms are used for initial selection of the turbines. For assumed value of head H [m] and flow rate Q [m3/s] you may estimate the turbine size – rotor diameter D [mm] and approximate operational parameters, including rotational speed n [rpm] and power output N [kW] at the turbine shaft. The operational characteristics of the offered turbines are prepared for expected operational and installation conditions on the basis of model tests carried out in Water Turbine and Pump Chair of Technical Institute Gdańsk – for tubular and Kaplan turbines, as well as in Institute of Fluid Flow Machinery of Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk for fluid flow Bank turbines. Detailed information about operational parameters and prices of hydraulic power-generating units are given in the form of technical and commercial proposals answering individual enquires submitted to ZRE Sp.z o.o. Gdańsk.> |
